A few of my favorite projects
“You’re going to change the world, Ben,”
That’s what my dad told me every night as a child when he turned my bedroom lights out. It must have become programmed into my subconscious mind, because that’s exactly what I believed when I started making music.
Entertaining and creating has always been an integral part of my life. Singing along to American Idol, violin lessons, and musical theatre turned into writing subpar songs with GarageBand (don’t ask me to play the first song I ever made). Thanks to some wonderful mentors and many hours a day in my little self-made home studio, I produced and released my debut single just after I turned 16.
By the time I was 18, I had gotten some traction online and attention from agents and labels in LA. I’m very religious, and I put all of it aside to serve a 2-year mission for my church. Since I’ve been home, God has blessed me tenfold. I have met the most amazing people and some of the projects I have been involved with have impacted millions of lives around the world.
I recently left college behind to focus on what I love most — producing contemporary pop and worship music for independent artists and films.
As an artist and songwriter myself, I understand the common frustrations that can come with translating the vision from the notes app to the speakers. The digital age of unlimited resources is here, but most independent musicians are still feeling stuck between the complexity of learning themselves and the cost of paying a producer. If that sounds like you, I’m your guy.
Good questions
The home studio, Provo, UT
Artists may wish to be present in the studio and be involved step-by-step, or simply provide creative direction, in which case they can expect regular updates for ongoing feedback. My studio is located in Provo, UT, but I also love working remotely with artists who live out of state or out of the country. A typical song has about a 3 week turnaround, depending on availability and responsiveness from the client.
See what people have said about working with me →As made popular by artists like Billie Eilish and Lauv, bedroom pop has all of the same quality standards of today’s Top 40, without the big fancy studios and expensive analog gear — allowing the process to cost a fraction of what major labels pay and favoring a more intimate, authentic, and personal feel to the music.
Producing a song generally involves 3 roles. On a budget, these can all be the same person, but it is usually recommended that they be split between 2 or more people to bring in unique perspectives and fresh ears.
Pricing will vary depending on the complexity and scale of the project. Songs for film and TV will include a sync license on top of the up-front fee.
